January's concert is a celebration of some of history's greatest love stories - and the music that brought them to life. Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe is a luxurious score that beautifully captures the blossoming of young love in a pastoral setting. Romeo and Juliet has inspired unforgettable music from many composers, from Prokofiev to Berstein. This time, we turn to Tchaikovsky, whose energetic and exotic score vividly expresses the passion and tragedy of these iconic, star-crossed lovers.
